Nick's 2nd birthday
was celebrated a day early and had a "safari" theme. Mommy made his birthday cake and it was his favorite animal, a "dot-dot." (although, he's getting better at calling it an elephant)

Whew, that cake is sweet!

Let's try both hands - one with the proper utensil, the other the way I used to eat!

Where are Nick's ears
?

Where are Nick's boobies?

Where is Nick's weener? (Nick got a little shy with the audience)

A Day with Grampa and Gramma Allen
Nick spent the day with us at the farm. He and Grampa were watching "the girls" (dogs) run-run-run (with a little bit of consternation).

Great Grandma June had her 83rd birthday on Sept. 9. She sent her b-day balloons home with us to share with Nick for his birthday. Nick loved the balloons. Grampa is being silly with Nick and the balloons.

Nick laughing at another of Grampa's jokes.

Kiss Gramma or stick the binky back in my mouth?

Nick is ready for preschool
Hard to believe! (no, we weren't there but he's just too cute not to put on the blog!)

Dinner out with the Allen extended family Friday, April 24, 2009
Aunt Betty and cousins Linda and Carolyn were passing through Manhattan on their way home to Colorado. About 15 family members met at Sirloin Stockade for dinner and conversation. Entertainment was provided by Nick and Jaiden (Brian and Heather's daughter).

Around the table with Aunt Betty.

This is a Jell-O and M&M smile!

Sunday at the Farm
This was the first time I didn't have over 100 photos. We were too busy walking, running, climbing, laughing, chasing, playing . . . You name it we did it! We spent a little time outside to watch the "girls" run. It was the one time Nick did not want to be on his own two feet. He was a bit unsure of their roughhousing.

Lunch for Nick was mac 'n' cheese and a fruit cup. He climbed into the chair and sat like a big boy! He knows what to do when the camera comes out.

Nick and Grandpa were both having trouble keeping their eyes open. It turned into nap time.

Always need to go to the shop and check out Grandpa's projects. They were nice enough to pose for Grandma.

Nick and Shady
We often watch Nick when Mom and Dad's schedules overlap in the evening or they want to have a "date" night. This particular night I got a "make nice" picture with Nick and Shady and then my camera broke. : ( No it wasn't dead batteries - it just quit working. I pretty much burn up my camera when we're with Nick so I guess it was a matter of time. ; )
